The invention of social media has provided people with a wide range of opportunities to become more informed on issues and engage in the democratic process. However, it has also created space for individuals to try to influence public opinion around a particular political agenda through the creation of by thousands of phony social media accounts, or computer-generated ‘bots.’
About 30% of social media users have been deceived by a bot at one point or another.

1. Select an issue you would like to promote social awareness about on Twitter. (Examples could be climate change, endangered species, bullying, etc)
2. Decide on a "Twitter bot" that you would create. Your bot will explain possible solutions to your problem. For example, if you chose bullying, your Twitter bot might share ways we can decrease bullying or tips on how to handle certain situations.

On the right-hand side of your portfolio go to the "Digital Citizen" class. Take your time to go through each lesson, they ARE graded by a teacher. Complete lessons 1-6 and pass to earn your official Digital Citizenship badge.
